Pop star Bebe Rexha was struck on the head with a phone during a concert in New York City on Sunday night. The singer was taken to the hospital and received stitches above her left eye.
A 27-year-old man, Nicolas Malvagna of New Jersey, has been charged with assault in the third degree, harassment in the second degree, aggravated harassment in the second degree, and attempted assault in the third degree.
According to the Manhattan District Attorney’s office, Malvagna told a police officer at the scene that he threw the phone at Rexha because he thought it would be funny.
Rexha shared photos of her injuries on Instagram on Monday. She captioned the pictures “I’m good”, and gave the camera a thumbs-up.
