Kim Cattrall will make a cameo appearance in the season 2 finale of And Just Like That…, Deadline has learned.
Cattrall will reprise her role as Samantha Jones, the fourth member of the original Sex and the City quartet. Samantha’s absence from the first season of And Just Like That… was explained as her having moved to London after a falling out with Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker).
Cattrall’s cameo was filmed in March, towards the end of production on season 2. She did not interact with any of the other cast members or showrunner Michael Patrick King.
The cameo was conceived as a one-off, but the door has been left open for more if the series gets a third season.
Cattrall’s return to And Just Like That… is sure to be a major talking point for fans of the show. The actress has been open about her negative experiences making the Sex and the City films, and her decision not to return for And Just Like That… was met with mixed reactions.
